Alfazyme is a ready to use solution for gentle detachment of cells.
Description
Alfazyme contains a mixture of long glucane polymers with a strong negative charge and mild acting enzymes with proteolytic and collagenolytic activities. It is a very gentle detacher which ensures maximum viability of the cells and maintains all the cell surface receptors.
Alfazyme is supplied in Dulbecco´s PBS and is sterile filtered.
Shelf Life and Storage
Alfazyme has a shelf life of 2 years when stored at <-15°C. When using frequently (daily) store at +2°C to +8°C for up to one month.
Instructions for use
Use Alfazyme in the same manner like Trypsin EDTA solutions are used to detach cells from adherent surfaces. Always handle cells with standard aseptic techniques.
- Remove medium, wash cells with Dulbecco’s PBS (without Ca & Mg). Remove wash liquid. Repeat if necessary.
- Add 2-4 ml Alfazyme per 25 cm2 surface area.
- Incubate at +37°C and allow cells to detach for 5-45 minutes (based on cell type and adherence).
- Count cells and transfer the cell suspension in a sterile centrifuge vessel, centrifuge gently and re-suspend the cell pellet in culture medium and continue incubation.
For in vitro laboratory use or further manufacturing only. Not for human use.
