PAA manufactures and supplies a wide range of high quality reagents for use in cell culture. These reagents are supplied as a separate product group for use in conjunction with PAA serum products, cell culture media and buffer solutions.
Raw Materials
All chemicals and other raw materials are subject to stringent quality tests before being released out of quarantine into our cell culture production areas. Only those materials which meet with PAA documented Quality Control & Quality Assurance (QC/QA) internal standards are allowed for use in our production facilities.
Production
The liquid reagents are all sterile filtered and then filled under Laminar Air Flow (LAF) conditions. They are provided as either liquids or frozen solutions depending upon individual product storage criteria. Water purity is a very important factor in the production of high quality reagents. All reagents are prepared using purified water which meets stringent industry standards. All reagents sold in powder format are also subject to strict quality standards.
Quality Control
PAA reagents are subject to strict QC testing before release. These tests include endotoxin level (LPS), pH and osmolality. Certain reagents are also tested for biological performance. Other QC tests include cell detachment/attachment, transfection assays and antibiotic toxicity activity. Growth tests for specific cell types such as embryonic and neuronal stem cells and amniocytes are also performed.
Packaging
All liquid reagents are sterile filtered into gamma irradiated PET bottles. All reagents supplied in powder form are filled into convenient sized containers.
Storage & Shipping
Exact storage conditions are shown on each product label and in the product specification as shown in this catalogue. Some products must be stored at ≤ −15°C, others at +2°C to +8°C and some at room temperature. Please ensure you take careful note of the storage conditions to ensure product integrity. PAA provides products in appropriate packaging to meet storage requirements. All products are subject to a final quality control check before being packaged and despatched.
