HeLa cells are usually grown in RPMI 1640 medium, supplemented only with serum. For optimal growth additional enhancers, trace elements and cofactors are needed. Quantum 101 is a new formulation of the basal medium RPMI 1640 with specific serum components purified by chromatography. Additionally Quantum 101 is supplemented with selected components of yeast and soybean extract.
