PAA’s Neuronal Base Medium is formulated to meet Neuronal Base Medium  ­neurons of the central nervous system (CNS) and peripheral nervous system (PNS). In combination with ­different NeuroMixes (B27 NeuroMix, Neuronal Stem Cell Supplement) the supplemented medium allows grow­th and differentiation of neuronal stem cells without the need of an astrocyte feeder layer.

For serum free cell culture of adult neuronal stem cells defined culture conditions are necessary. Neuronal Base Medium contains an optimized and balanced formu­lation of trace elements, salts, amino acids, fatty acids and vitamins. In combination with diffe­rent NeuroMixes, G5 or N2 Supplement embryonic stem cells can be differentiated into neuronal cells. Furthermore with B27 NeuroMix neuronal stem cells can be differentiated into neuronal cells and astro­cytes. By using Neuronal Stem Cell Supplement adult neuro­nal stem cells can proliferate without ­differen­tiation.
