General
N2 Supplement is a serum free, chemically defined supplement based on Bottenstein's N2 formulation. This supplement is optimized for growth of neuronal stem cells. In vitro grown neuronal stem cells are used to study basic development and neuronal re-transplantation.
Applications
Neuronal stem cells can be grown serum free with a mixture of growth factors and hormones. N2 Supplement can be used for proliferation of neuronal stem cells. The proliferation rate can be increased by addition of Neuro Stem Cell Supplement. For differentiation of neuronal stem cells N2 supplement must be combined with B27 NeuroMix.
The supplement can be used with the following base media:
Neuronal Base Medium, DMEM or DMEM/Ham’s F-12. For optimal results PAA recommends the use of Neuronal Base Medium (Cat. No. U15-023).
Composition
N2 Supplement contains recombinant insulin, human transferrin, sodium selenite, putrescine and progesterone in PBS.
