Hybridoma cells are made to produce a desired monoclonal antibody in large amounts. To achieve hybridomas B-cells are fused with myeloma (tumour) cells to grow indefinitely in culture. Hybridoma Express Plus is a fully defined serum free medium for the cultivation of various hybridoma cells. The low protein content simplifies the purification of produced antibodies. Hybridoma Express Plus is suitable for use in fermenters. The medium contains Pluronic for minimizing shear forces. To prevent interference in chromogenic assays it is supplied without phenol red.
