General
Horse serum contains specific growth factors which differ from other animal sera. For some hematopoietic cells like myeloid cells only horse serum provides the growth stimulating factors which are needed for their expansion. Therefore horse serum is the ideal supplement in nutrient media for in vitro growth of specific hematopoietic progenitors.
Applications
For long-term cultivation of myeloid cells the essential growth factors are provided by horse serum in combination with FBS ES cell tested.
Quality Control
The raw serum is collected in approved slaughterhouses. The collected raw serum is subjected to extensive tests such as equine infectious anaemia.
