General
Gentamicin is an antibiotic of the aminoglycoside family that inhibits bacterial protein biosynthesis by binding to the 30S subunit of the ribosome. It is active against gram negative and gram positive bacteria including mycoplasma.

- Effective against gram positive and gram negative bacteria
- Limited effectiveness against mycoplasma
