Pre-tested on Amniocytes and Chorionic Villi Cells
Foetal Bovine Serum (FBS), as a source of specific growth factors, is necessary for cell cultivation. However, only specially selected sera batches meet the requirements for amniocytes and chorionic villi cell culture. PAA determines in cooperation with independent cytogenetic laboratories which batches are suitable by carrying out extensive tests, namely by:
- Quantitative growth assays on primary cultures of amniocytes and chorionic villi cells
- Determination of growth rates
- Producing karyograms after preparing metaphase chromosomes
- Monitoring results against reference standards
